Enable Numlock at Startup in Registry

This technical guide will show you how to enable numlock at windows startup from registry. Useful for machines that start up with the numlock disabled.

Tired of having to enable numlock every single time your virtual machine starts up? There is a solution to have numlock automatically enable at startup.

  1. Hold the Windows Key then press “R” to bring up the Run dialog box.
  2. Type “regedit“, then press “Enter“.
  3. Navigate to the following location in the registry:
  1. Change the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators

Numlock should now be automatically enabled upon Windows startup.
